Russell Houghton
Apart from a few wonderful years at sea with the Merchant Navy after leaving school,
the majority of my career has been in sales and marketing.
Over 16 years of producing brochures, adverts, designing logos and websites,
I helped grow a small company into a big one; It was fun and of course hard work,
I even fitted in a Postgrad Diploma in Management Studies. But it was always the
photos that really excited me.
Eventually I decided to specialize as a freelance photographer and because marketing
was in my blood, I would focus on commercial photography. I took a 2 year full time
Diploma in Photography to build on my practical photography experience,
achieving the highest grades.
I have worked for a variety of customers in the South West, creating effective images
that have been published both in real life and on the web. I believe it is my experience
of running a successful business that crucially influences the photographs I produce for them.
I hope my clients find me professional, easy to get on with and focused on them.
